HWDSB Community Involvement Hours Info
In order to graduate secondary school in Ontario, a student must complete a minimum of 40 Community Involvement Hours.
Tips for students
- Try to complete your hours as early as possible
- you can start collecting your hours on July 1st in the year you graduate from Grade 8
- Hours must be outside of scheduled class time: evenings, weekends, lunch breaks, holidays and during the summer
- Browse Volunteer Hamilton's volunteer opportunities online
- The ChangetheWorld! Youth Volunteer Challenge happens every spring and there are always a lot of great opportunities that count towards your hours
- Make sure to complete your Community Involvement Hours Form
