The Eva Rothwell Resource Centre at Robert Land

Agency Highlights:

The Eva Rothwell Resource Centre at Robert Land is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing a community service hub to a poorly serviced neighbourhood through the establishment of various programs and services of a social, recreational and health nature.

The Eva Rothwell Resource Centre services 1100 homes comprised of low income, single parent families and visible minorities. Programs are targeted to the demographic of this community; including children, youth, women, adults and seniors, however, all programs and services are open and inclusive to all who wish to participate.

Programs are designed to meet the unique challenges faced by these groups to foster independence and leadership in order to promote long term positive change. The ERRC seeks to improve access and increase learning opportunities through programs offered through partnerships and sponsors.

Many residents and volunteers continue to make personal commitments of time and talent at the centre to ensure that the neighbourhood is a safe and sustainable one.

How to become a volunteer at the Eva Rothwell Resource Centre:

Anyone 14 years of age or older may volunteer for the program. Volunteers will be required to complete a screening process. A registration form (see below) must be completed and returned to Volunteer Hamilton.

If you are interested in volunteering at the Eva Rothwell Resource Centre you may contact the centre through e-mail to schedule a one-to-one meeting with one of the co-ordinators. During this meeting volunteers are properly oriented to the facility and given the formal volunteer paperwork.

There are numerous positions available for those interested in volunteering and we are always looking into expanding our programs and services. One speculation is that all volunteers must have a cleared police check.
